“Emunah” – Scudder Memorial Hospital Vol 1 Issue 1

Dear Members and Friends of the Scudder Association Foundation,

Dr. Anbu Suresh Rao, Medical Superintendent of The Scudder Memorial Hospital in Ranipet (“SMH”) has published the first of what we are told will be bi-monthly Newsletters about SMH, entitled “Emunah”. (The meaning of “Emunah” can be found on page 1 of the Newsletter.) As many of you know, SMH was founded in the middle of the 19th century by descendants of Dr. John Scudder, the first Scudder Medical Missionary to India who arrived in 1819. The first issue of the Newsletter provides a detailed history of the Scudder family\’s involvement with SMH on page 3 of the Newsletter.

This is one of the latest of Dr. Rao\’s many contributions to SMH which he almost single handedly brought back from near bankruptcy and dissolution a decade ago to the vibrant hospital it is today.

If you would like to be put on the mailing list for future “Emunah” Newsletters, please let me know.

Sincerely yours,

Charles S.K. Scudder, Esq.
